PH91's Control Area Barrack was unique, most Nike Bases had an 'L' shaped Barrack-with the EM (Enlisted Men) in one wing and BOQ (Bachelor Officer's Quarters) in the other. The lower part of the 'L' would contain the heating system, latrine and shower.Apparently the Army was unable to obtain the size property needed for 91's Control Area, so the Barrack had to be broken into the two individual sections. A source said an 'L' shaped building here would have caused the configuration of buildings to interefere with the radars.
